How credits work

Content credits pay for articles, AI images and fixes. What each piece costs, when credits reset, top-ups, and what happens when they run out.

Articles, AI images and fixes all draw on one pool of content credits for your workspace, shared across its brands. Your plan adds its credits every billing month.

A landing page is an article. Uploading your own image and the drawn covers never cost a credit. Rewriting a draft that already started costs nothing more.

Plan credits and top-ups#

  • Plan credits reset at the start of every billing month. Unused ones don't roll over.
  • Top-ups are one-off purchases. They last 12 months from the day you buy them and are used only once your plan credits for the month run out, oldest first.

Each plan's credits, and the mix they are sized for, are in the plan table on Plans, add-ons and billing.

To buy a top-up, open Team and billing and click Add credits. Only the workspace owner can buy.

When credits run out#

  • Drafts you already started always finish.
  • New pieces wait, including the ones Autopilot would write. The content plan keeps them on the calendar and drafts them once credits are back.
  • A piece that needs AI images is written without new images, and you can upload your own.

Prefera warns you before that happens: in the app and in Slack (and by email when it can) when 80% of the month's plan credits are used, and when what is scheduled for the rest of the month needs more than you have left. A banner on Content plan and Create shows the same, with Add credits.

Agents#

Agents can read the credit balance through the API and MCP. Top-ups are bought only in Team and billing, never through an agent.
