PreferaBot

PreferaBot is the page reader of Prefera, an AI answer visibility product. It reads public pages so a brand can see the facts on its own site, check its site readiness for AI engines, and see the pages AI answers cite.

How it identifies itself

Requests carry this user agent:

Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; PreferaBot/1.0; +https://prefera.si/bot)

Some reads also go through our page-reading providers, which use their own user agents. When they cannot read a page, PreferaBot tries once itself.

What it reads

  • Only public pages: no logins, no forms, nothing behind a paywall.
  • It never posts, submits or changes anything.
  • A small number of pages per check (your home, pricing and key pages, and pages AI answers cite), not a full crawl.

Allowing it on your site

If you use Prefera and your bot protection blocks automated readers, allow requests whose user agent contains PreferaBot. In Cloudflare, for example, add a WAF custom rule that skips bot checks when the user agent contains PreferaBot. Prefera tries again on the next check, and the notice in the app clears once your pages can be read.
