# Analytics: PostHog, Plausible, DataFast

> Connect PostHog, Plausible or DataFast with an API key so Prefera can show which fixes brought visits, signups and revenue.

Source: https://prefera.si/docs/integrations/analytics
Docs index for agents: https://prefera.si/llms.txt

Prefera reads your own analytics to show which fixes brought visits, signups and revenue. This happens under **Integrations** > **Traffic and revenue**. It costs you nothing extra.

Google Analytics connects separately, in the **Data sources** group. See [Google Search Console and GA4](/docs/integrations/google). When Google Analytics is connected, it is used first.

## What each one gives you

| Tool | What Prefera reads |
| --- | --- |
| **DataFast** | Visits and revenue per page. Per-page source (Google, AI assistants) is not available from DataFast, so those show for the whole site. |
| **Plausible** | Visits by page and source, plus conversions and revenue for goals that have revenue turned on. Needs a Stats API key, which is a Plausible Business plan feature. |
| **PostHog** | Visits by page and source from your page views, including visits from AI assistants. PostHog has no revenue or conversions that fit here, so those stay empty. |

Prefera reads visits by page and day, conversions and revenue. It never changes anything in your analytics, and reads at most twice a day.

## Connect

Owners and editors can connect. On the tile click **Connect**, follow the steps, then click **Test connection** and **Save and connect**. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again.

### DataFast

1. Open DataFast, pick the website, then **Website settings** > **API**.
2. Create a **website API key** and copy it. It starts with `df_`. Prefera only reads.
3. Paste it as **Website API key** and save. The key is tied to one website, so there is nothing else to pick.

### Plausible

1. Open Plausible settings, then **API Keys**. In the top right, make sure the team that owns your site is selected.
2. Click **New API Key**, choose **Stats API**, create it and copy it. It is shown once. It needs a Plausible Business plan.
3. Paste it as **Stats API key** and click **Find my sites**, then pick your **Site**.

You can also type the site yourself under **Or type the site yourself**, for example `example.com`.

### PostHog

1. Open your PostHog personal API keys page. EU cloud users use eu.posthog.com.
2. Create a key, tick **Query: read** and **Project: read**, set it to your projects, and copy it. It starts with `phx_`.
3. Paste it as **Personal API key** and click **Find my projects**, then pick one. Prefera finds the region for you.

Other choices in the dialog:

- **Enter the project ID instead** lets you choose the **Region** (US cloud, EU cloud or Self-hosted) and type the **Project ID**, a number found in Project settings.
- **Self-hosted PostHog** takes **Your PostHog address**. It must be https, for example `https://posthog.example.com`. Leave it empty for PostHog cloud.

## If it stops working

A failing key shows **Needs attention** on the tile. Click **Manage**, paste a new key and save.

## Disconnect

Click **Disconnect** on the tile. The stored key and the traffic Prefera kept from it are deleted. Your analytics is not touched.

See [Results and analytics](/docs/results) for where the traffic and revenue show up.
