# Plans, add-ons and billing

> Compare Prefera plans and add-ons, buy content credit top-ups, change plan, cancel, switch to annual billing, and see what happens when you reach a limit.

Prefera has one workspace plan at a time. Each plan gives the whole workspace a monthly budget of AI answers and a monthly pool of content credits, shared across its brands. You can add add-ons on top of a paid plan and buy one-off credit top-ups. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments. Prices are before tax. Tax is added at checkout and shown on each invoice.

**Enterprise** is for more than 10 brands. It has everything in Agency Starter, plus custom answer and content credit volumes, white-label client reports and priority support. Choose **Contact sales** on the [pricing page](/pricing#enterprise).

Every paid plan has unlimited seats, so you can invite as many teammates as you need. See [Team, roles and client reports](/docs/account/team).

The **Free** plan gives you one free scan and no tracking runs. Pick a paid plan to start tracking your questions.

## Add-ons

Add-ons sit on top of a paid plan and are billed with it. Switch them on or off in the **Add-ons** tab. They are not available on Free.

- **Claude add-on**, two tiers, one at a time. **Claude on the questions you choose** ($9/mo on Solo, $15 on Starter, $59 on Growth, $179 on Agency Starter): a Claude answer budget for the workspace of 130, 325, 1,300 or 3,900 Claude answers a month. You choose which questions get Claude and how often: daily (1 Claude answer a day, about 30 a month) or weekly × 1, × 2 or × 3 (about 4, 9 or 13 a month). On Growth that is about 100 questions weekly × 3, 300 weekly × 1, or 42 daily, or any mix that fits. Until you choose, Prefera picks your most important questions weekly × 3. Choose them in **Tracking settings** or with the **Claude** tag on **Questions**. **Claude on every question** ($12/mo on Solo, $29 on Starter, $109 on Growth, $329 on Agency Starter): Claude answers every question you track on every run, like your other engines (a daily question gets 1 Claude answer a day). Moving up a tier starts now; moving down waits for the end of the billing period. Claude answers come on top of your AI answers. Claude is not one of the five included engines on any plan.
- **Extra AI answers**: more answers a month for the workspace, for more daily or twice-weekly questions. Your question limit stays the same.

Older packs (extra questions, articles or AI images) are no longer sold. If your subscription still has one, it keeps working until you remove it: extra questions still add to your questions and AI answers, and extra articles or AI images now add content credits each month.

The **Add-ons** tab also has one-time purchases: content credit top-ups, **Deep Audit** and **Fix Sprint**. They are billed once, when you buy. Deep Audit works on any plan, including Free.

## Open Team and billing

All billing is under one screen. Only the workspace owner can change anything here. Other members can read it.

1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open the account menu.
2. Click **Team and billing**.
3. Pick a tab: **Team**, **Billing** or **Add-ons**.

The panel on the right (**Your plan**) shows your plan, the next invoice, the add-ons that are on, how many AI answers you have used this billing period and your content credits.

## Start a paid plan

1. Open **Team and billing** > **Billing**.
2. Choose **Monthly** or **Annual, 2 months free**.
3. Click **Choose** and the plan name, for example **Choose Growth**.
4. Pay on the checkout page.

When you come back, your plan shows within a minute. If the checkout does not complete, nothing is charged.

## Change plan

1. Open **Team and billing** > **Billing**.
2. Click **Change plan**.
3. Pick **Monthly** or **Annual, 2 months free**, then click **Switch to** and the plan name.
4. Read the review. It says what changes, when, and what you pay today.
5. Click **Confirm** and the plan name.

Prefera looks before it charges. If a change would leave you with more brands than the new plan covers, it is blocked. Remove brands in **All brands** first, or pick a plan that covers them. Nothing is deleted for you.

### Upgrades take effect now

An upgrade starts at once. Your billing date moves to today. You pay for a period of the new plan minus the unused part of what you already paid. The review shows the amount before you confirm.

### Downgrades wait for the end of the period

A move to a lower plan, or from annual back to monthly, takes effect at the end of the billing period. You keep your current plan until then. Nothing is charged or credited now, and unused time is not refunded.

Until the date arrives, the **Billing** tab shows a note with the date of the change.

When a downgrade takes effect:

- Your AI answers, question limit and content credits follow the new plan.
- A custom question split that no longer fits goes back to an even split across your brands.
- Add-ons the new plan does not offer are removed. Top-up credits you bought stay until they expire.
- Your brands, answers and history stay as they are.

## Annual or monthly

Annual billing is labelled **Annual, 2 months free** next to the monthly option. To switch, click **Switch to annual, 2 months free** on the **Billing** tab. Annual billing starts now and your billing date moves to today. You pay for a year minus the unused part of what you already paid.

To go from annual back to monthly, use **Change plan** and pick **Monthly**. That change waits for the end of the billing period.

## Add or remove an add-on

1. Open **Team and billing** > **Add-ons**.
2. Use the switch next to an add-on. For add-ons you can stack, use the plus and minus buttons for more or fewer.
3. Read the review. It shows what you pay today and your new monthly or annual total.
4. Click **Confirm**.

Adding an add-on starts at once and is charged today, prorated for the rest of the billing period. Removing an add-on, or lowering a stack, takes effect at the end of the billing period. It stays on until then, shown as **On until** and a date. Nothing is credited for the unused time.

If you add back an add-on that is waiting to be removed, the removal is cancelled and nothing more is charged.

## Cancel your plan

1. Open **Team and billing** > **Billing**.
2. Click **Cancel plan**.
3. Click **Yes, cancel at period end**.

Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. You are not charged again. After that the workspace goes back to Free. Your brands and history stay saved.

Changed your mind? Click **Resume** on the note at the top of the **Billing** tab. Changing your plan or an add-on while it is set to end also keeps the plan. Prefera asks you to agree to that first.

## Cards, invoices and billing details

On the **Billing** tab:

- **Update card** and **Edit billing details** open the billing portal.
- The **Invoices** table lists each invoice with its status. Use the download button to get a copy.

If a payment fails, a banner shows above every screen. Tracking continues for a short grace period, with the end date shown. Click **Update card** and the payment is retried. If the grace period passes, tracking pauses until the payment goes through. Other members see the same banner and are told to ask the owner.

## When you reach a limit

Plans set limits. When you reach one, Prefera says so and points to the way forward.

| Questions per brand | You cannot add another question. Archive one, give the brand a bigger share in **Tracking** settings, or check fewer questions daily so more fit. |
| Monthly AI answers | Near the limit, scheduled runs check only your most important questions that still fit; once all are used, runs pause. A red banner shows how many you used. Runs resume when the new period starts, or add **Extra AI answers**. **Lower schedule** opens **Tracking** settings. |
| Content credits | Drafts already started finish. New pieces, including Autopilot's, wait until your credits reset or you click **Add credits** and buy a top-up. |
| Brands | **Add brand** explains the limit and links to billing. |
